  I went to this branch of Safeway to buy California lavash 3 times and each time the staff would tell me that they had ordered and would give me a date to go & pick it up, but for some reason they never had it; & they weren't even aware if any order was placed & if so what the status of the order was. So I drove there 3 times in vain because of their confused & irresponsible customer service representatives!

  Been coming here for decades. Nothing special, being a Safeway and all. Only 2 complaints which are long-standing issues with lots of Safeways: they claim they won't make you wait in a long line but you frequently do, and they really should put the locked-up liquor behind the service counter and keep that counter staffed so you don't have to wait and pray someone will respond to the 'paging someone to the liquor cabinet' call, which isn't generally very effective.

  They would often be out of a couple staples for us, sweetened vanilla almond milk and Amy's gluten free broccoli cheddar bake (single not family). Not as good a selection of stock as alameda, Hayward, or Castro Valley Safeways. The parking lot can be sketchy after dark. The McDs can be handy. It's easy to miss the comic, subway and other fast food place nearby and harder to drive to. The left door is the one they leave open later. In some ways better than going to the other San Leandro Safeway (service, parking lot theft, wait time) though. If you are going to do self checkout, might as well go to pak n save.

  Always clean, nice employees. Well stocked but lighting is dark compared to castro valley.
